PROWIN Member Spotlight - Paige Nathan

Updated: Apr 27, 2023

Professional Women's Information Network mission is to empower women to thrive in their careers by offering leadership and professional development opportunities and to foster meaningful connections in a fun, supportive community. PROWIN have been supporting porfessional women as they grow their brands and their businesses together for 20 years. I am honored to be a member feature this month.

Introduce yourself to our audience. Please let us know who you are and what you are currently focused on.

Hello Ladies – I am Paige Nathan – The Food Truck Queen! Simply Food Trucks began with my love of food trucks, probably routed back to going to festivals with my parents from a young age. I love street food and being connected to a community of culinary entrepreneurs. Every food truck owner has a story to tell through their food. With my background in special event planning and my love of food, becoming a food truck booking agent was the perfect marriage. Food trucks are the perfect way to feed crowds of any size in a safe, efficient, and delicious way.

Paige Nathan, owner of Simply Food Trucks

Simply Food Trucks is passionate about great food and helping deliver worry-free events. Sprinkle in a dash of community service, and Simply Food Trucks (previously Food with Purpose) was born. Founded in 2016, Simply Food Trucks has been the go-to food truck partner for the Atlanta metro area and other cities in the Southeast.

Some of our most significant accomplishments include being a part of Super Bowl LIII, the Miss Universe Pageant, countless film productions, Falcons events for players and fans and a Food Truck Night at the Home Depot Backyard for a wellness company with 10,000 guests. We’re also committed to giving back and supporting many non-profits at their events and have worked with many including Rock the Vote, World Central Kitchen, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Arthur Blank Foundation. We’ve also proudly donated to several food-related organizations, including Second Helpings Atlanta, The Giving Kitchen, and Wholesome Wave.

Do you have a favorite PROWIN memory or success story? Why are you a member?

My first PROWIN lunch was about ten years ago and I met Essie Escobedo. She was my ProWIN “Welcome Wagon” and a shining star. I remember being very impressed by the caliber and quality of the programming and the camaraderie among the members. Thanks to Essie’s company– Office Angels -I have the best virtual assistant - who is a vital part of my team.

What is one of your most memorable career accomplishments?

In February of 2021 (while we were all still trying to maneuver in and the Pandemic), I was asked to coordinate an event for 10,000 guests. Not only was it the largest event that I had ever done but it was also for a health and wellness company so we had to change every menu for the 45 food trucks and caterers. Thanks to a dynamite team of partners and vendors, we did it! It was huge success and we are ready to do it again!

How do you create a balance between work and life? Is there a specific tactic you use?

I love what I do so I am on call 24/7. When I decided to start my own business, flexibility was at the top of my list. So as long as I can have that, I am good to go. I can work from anywhere (coffee shops, beach cafes – as long as there is good wifi!) I have also created a team who can support me when I do want to go “offline.”

One piece of business or personal advice I wish I would've known earlier is:

Know what you do well and find others who can fill in the gaps. It can be hard working solo so I am grateful for my team of 1099s who support Simply Food Trucks.

“The whole is greater than the sum of the parts” - Aristotle

What’s the next place on your vacation list?

My suitcase is always packed. I travel a lot to see family in Florida, Maryland and have made Asheville my “home away from home!” My husgband and I are planninig a fall trip to Spain- Barcelona and Sitges– culture, cuisine and coast!

Exercise or no exercise, meditation, affirmation, – do you have a healthy habit?

Healthy food and movement are integral to my lifestyle. Working in the hospitality industry – the food can be a challenging so movement and exercise are important. I just recommitted to trainer and get some cardio in walking my 16 year old cockapoo Ty. I have some daily affirmations and reading that keep me grounded too!

What shows are you currently watching, or a movie, book or podcast recommendation?

I am a big fan of the library so love to browse their hot picks and historical fiction. My favorite all time tv shows are Seinfeld and I Love Lucy. We own the full collections and never get tired of the screwball red head or Jerry and friends!
